The real reason you are not getting the results you want and why new year resolutions rarely work is not because of things you may think. You at some point may have said with conviction and meaning the best that you are going to achieve XY or Z I.e get into the best shape of their lives and then a few weeks, or months later they find that they are back where they started and have not made any real progress. And in my experience the real reason that they are not getting the result that they say they want is because their mind is working against them.
It is now well established that we have a conscious mind and unconscious mind in academic circles or in popular books it is called the unconscious is called the subconscious. The subconscious / unconscious can be likened to the larger part of an iceberg that is below the surface of the water. It holds all the things that you have learnt and believe over your life and it is controlling your results. This is why neuroscientist say that we are only between 5 to 10% conscious at any time and therefore only use this % of our mind. The conscious mind doesn’t give meanings to things. Therefore, if you were in a room without the backup of the unconscious mind you wouldn’t know how to get out of the room because you wouldn’t know what a door handle is and what a door is and that you should look for both to get out of the room.

The purpose of the unconscious is so that you can remember things without thinking. For instance, you can recite your times table, speak a language and drive a car. These are all unconscious actions that are done without you having to think about them. Can you imagine if every time you wanted to tie your shoelaces you had to think about how to do it. You wouldn’t be able to get very far. However, the problem with this unconscious once you learn something and accept it as true you no longer question it and do things automatically without thinking.
Therefore, and listen to this carefully because it will reveal the secret to getting results in any area of your life including your health…in order to achieve the results you want you cannot do it consciously, but you must do it unconsciously. That means that the end result that you want has to be imprinted into your unconscious mind deeper than any other opposing thoughts. What most people do is they consciously say I am going to get into great shape. But you can’t get into shape consciously because that is like swimming against a massive wave maybe you can do it for a short while but eventually you will drown and fail.
How can you tell what is on your unconscious mind? One way is to look around at your life. The results that you are getting will tell you what is in your unconscious mind. Another way is to determine what thought comes into your mind after the first thought of I am going to get in the best shape of my life. Is it…”but I haven’t done that before” or I am not really sure about that but I will give it a go. Then your unconscious mind is not set for the result that you want. I can easily tell what a persons unconscious mind is set for when I am training them. For my clients I give them a nutrition plan based on their circumstances. If they keep coming up with excuses as to why they cannot follow the plan then I know that this goal is just a conscious one and its not in their unconscious. Someone who has their results on their unconscious has a very different attitude they are able to say yes sir and follow my instructions precisely. It’s not to say that if the person doesn’t like a certain food that I force them to use it because for example I don’t like eggs and tend not to eat them (mind you not liking eggs is an unconscious pattern for me and came about because of 2 experience I had….1 when as a child we went on a long journey and I visited my Aunt and me and my sister was so hungry and my Aunt gave as corned beef with scrambled eggs. I so disliked the taste that even though I was hungry couldn’t eat the food…..2. School dinner I remember being forced to use eggs at school…however I have been known even to eat eggs)
To explain the difference, I remember consciously deciding that I was not going to eat sweets and I did it for 2 months. Then I remember going into my local shop and buying one of the big chocolate bars convincing myself that I was going to share it with my family. I got on my bike and halfway home jumped off and scoffed the whole lot. Later when I got on my unconscious mind how bad sugar is for me, I no longer have an addiction to all things sweet. I can eat them or leave them but don’t have a craving for them. Why this is important is because of the way most people are brought up they will have a craving for sweet things. Advertisers associate sweet things with having a good time and food manufactures put it in everything to keep people coming back to buy more. Before we know it, will develop an unconscious and unhealthy eating pattern. Which is healthy to break. Have you ever seen someone who knows that the extra chocolate is bad for them but just cannot stop themselves.
How do you imprint things on your unconscious mind.
One way is repeat over and over again what you want a bit like how you learnt your times tables, but a quicker and more effective way can be achieved by using a method developed as part of university research study and was original research as result and I cover in my training and can be obtained here.
If you really understand what I have just said you will know the secret to obtaining results in every area of your life, so it is worth reading this over and over again until it clicks with you until it changes your behaviour so that you do things differently when you decide that you want to achieve something.
